As a textile artist concentrating on recycling my workshops have recently been focusing on rag rug making which is a fantasticly effective recycling technique. I can demonstrate and teach the basic hooking and prodding techniques and have developed particular workshops where the student can complete a finished peice in a few hours. The most popular of these workshops has been making rag rug flower badges.

These workshops are accessible for most age groups and abilities. I have recently taught adults with learning difficulties, school groups, and groups open to the public at various venues including festivals and the museum.

I am intending to expand my workshops to include many other textile recycling techniques, such as felting wool and making bags etc from old jeans. I can teach advanced rag rug making classes including punch needle, speed needle and locker hooker work. I am also interested in working with all sorts of rubbish and junk not just textiles.
