Haul is a group of arts professionals and health professionals which has been running for 19 years. Haul fundraises to offer arts activities and artworks throughout Ceredigion to health support groups, day care centres, hospitals and any health setting to promote health and wellbeing and to assist in the prevention of depression, social isolation and mental health problems.

 

Haul received no core funding so we are dependent on project grants. For the past 8 years we have received project funding from the Arts Council of Wales which has allowed us to hire a part time arts facilitator to work one day a week.

 

This year we have:

 

• Run workshops with people suffering or in remission from cancer

 

• Worked with Young Carers.

 

• Dementia residents in Hafan y Waun.

 

• We programme the art exhibitions in Bronglais Hospital Dining room.

 

• Each autumn Haul runs a fun day for staff at Bronglais Hospital (this year we hired a cartoonist to do caricatures of staff which were displayed in the Dining room).

 

• Clwb Haul- craft workshops for children with long term illnesses/ learning disabilities and their siblings.

 

• Arts workshops for people with addictions and rehabilitation in Cyswllt Contact Aberstywth and Cardigan and Rhoserchen residential centre.

 

• Creative writing at Mind Aberystwyth.

 

• Concerts at residential homes and community hospitals throughout Ceredigion.
